JOB PURPOSE

JVM is seeking a skilled Scientist I to join our team and perform a full range of scientific services with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 6 (South Central) serving Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. The ideal candidate will have a background in science.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Under supervision, perform a variety of routine tasks related to environmental projects including investigation of air, water, and solid/hazardous waste management issues, health, and safety compliance, and assist in permitting.
• Under close supervision, perform routine or non-routine investigations, correlate basic data, analyses, and calculations.
• May perform routine field work including sample collection and field measurements
• Assist in the preparation of project reports, permit applications, remedial action plans, closure plans, health and safety plans, QA/QC documents, and other project-specific reports.
• Plan and conduct work requiring judgment and substantial adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Work on less complicated assignments where little evaluation is required.

 QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in a science.
• No experience required.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
