JOB PURPOSE

JVM is seeking an Assistant Engineer to join our team and perform Assistant Engineer services with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 6 (South Central) serving Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. The ideal candidate will have a background in engineering.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Under close supervision, assists Engineers in performing a variety of routine tasks related to environmental projects including investigation of air, water, and solid/hazardous waste management issues, health, and safety compliance, and assists in permitting.
• Under close supervision, assists Engineers in performing routine or non-routine investigations, calculations, and simple engineering assignments (original work based on manuals/engineering principles or based on designs of others).
• May assist in performing routine field work including sample collection and field measurements.
• Assists in the preparation of project reports, permit applications, remedial action plans, closure plans, health and safety plans, QA/QC documents, and other project-specific reports.
• Receives specific and detailed instruction as to required tasks and results expected.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of two (2) years of higher-level education beyond high school.
• Three (3) years of experience.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
